Congratulations María on your well-deserved PhD! María Bogaerts-Márquez joined the lab in February 2017 thanks to an ERC-Consolidator grant that allowed her to carry out her PhD on identifying the environmental variables that are most relevant for Drosophila melanogaster adaptation. Maria thesis also involved updating T-lex3, an accurate computational tool to estimate reference transposable elements population frequencies and co-creating the DEST dataset that provides the most complete set of pool-seq Drosophila melanogaster genomes.
