Systems and Computer Engineer and Bioinformatician. I obtained my B.Sc. degree in Computer Science at the University of Caldas, Colombia. I worked as a researcher at the Bioinformatics Center of Colombia, improving automatic workflows using supercomputing and data mining. Then I did a PhD in Engineering – Bioinformatics studying machine learning models (especially neural networks) for large scale analysis of transposable elements in plants. At Gonzalez Lab, I am participating in the understanding of the relationship between transposable elements and the adaptation processes of drosophila species to different environments.
