Together with Cristina Vieira, Emmanuelle Lerat, and Clement Goubert from the Equipe Eléments transposables, Evolution, Populations (TREEP), we have analyzed the population dynamics and the selection patterns of transposable element insertions in European natural populations of Drosophila melanogaster. We have used the dataset generated by DrosEU containing pooled-sequenced genomes from 32 European populations. We found that the mobilome landscape is population specific and highly diverse for some TE families. We also identified TE insertions likely to be involved in adaptation both in European and North American populations. This work is published Molecular Ecology.
