Very happy to see our bioRxiv preprint now published in PLoS Genetics. The work was started at Dmitri Petrov lab in collaboration with Anna Sophie Fiston-Lavier at Stanford University, and Hadi Quesneville lab at URGI, and finished in our lab thanks to the work of several grad students and postdoctoral researchers. We analyze 91 D. melanogaster samples collected in 60 natural populations to identify candidate adaptive TE insertions. We have learned about the potential role of TE-induced mutations in stress-response, behaviour and development. We are currently working on validating these candidates TEs.
